"O Holy Night" was originally a French poem titled "Minuit, chrétiens" written by Placide Cappeau in 1847. The music was composed by Adolphe Adam the same year. The hymn gained popularity and was later translated into English, becoming a beloved carol performed worldwide during the Christmas season.
