Juan Ponce de León was a Spanish explorer and conquistador best known for his quest for the Fountain of Youth. Born in 1460, he played a significant role in the early colonization of Puerto Rico and later made his way to Florida in 1513, becoming the first European to explore the region. His expeditions greatly impacted American history.
