Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University by seven visionary men: Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Walter Marvin Phillips, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. These founders aimed to promote scholarship, fellowship, and service within the African American community, paving the way for future generations.
